What a quote, that selfish, stuck-up thing.
The best thing is that we now have Murray who routinely beats the slobbering Fed in 3 setters AND we have Nadal who routinely beats him in 5 setters.
But calling it "crocodile tears" is just unfair.
OK, self-centered, narcissistic, me, me, me tears-- is that better?
My first reaction to hearing about Roger's meltdown was one of sympathy -- how can one not feel another person's tears?
But after I watched the whole thing, I started to have mixed feelings. For one thing, it went on, and on, and on. Why couldn't Roger at least congratulate Rafa and say something like "I'm a bit overcome -- I'll talk later" and step away? Instead he just stood there in the limelight. One way or another he managed to find a way to take as much of the joy out of it as possible from Rafa.
BTW, IMHO that he was introduced as "everyone's favourite tennis player" at a presentation celebrating Rafa's win is inexcusable. Just another in a long series of slights to the rest of the field not named Roger Federer.
