The Drought is Over!

by Savannah
The United States has won the Davis Cup for the first time in twelve years. Patrick McEnroe's men - Andy Roddick, James Blake, Mike Bryan and Bob Bryan wrested the cup from Russia by winning 3-0 dropping only one set along the way. The victory is the culmination of PMac's plan for success begun seven years ago when he became Captain of the Davis Cup. He has silenced the whispers about who should and should not be on the team coaching Andy Roddick and James Blake to victory and cheering on Bob and Mike Bryan who were the odds on favorites going into their doubles match this afternoon.

For now all the negative talk about the state of United States Tennis is forgotten as the tennis establishment here in the States has something to celebrate and be proud of. The United States team showed what it can do when the circumstances are right. There will be time enough to dissect the matches and discuss what was right and what was wrong. For now let's just celebrate the team work and dedication that got PMac's team this victory.
