The WTA season ended with a match that lasted more than three hours between one woman everyone thought would be there and one few thought would be. In the end fatigue took the crispness out of Maria Sharapova's shots and Justine Henin, as fresh as she was when the match started was able to close it out.
Congratulations to both women for besting the best the WTA had to offer in Madrid.
