Breaking News

ATP - MONTE CARLO

Dear Fans
I have decided to accept a wildcard into the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters tournament that begins on Monday. I will head there this weekend to start the clay court season.

Thanks to all of you for your continued support.

All the best,

Roger

With this simple statement on his Official Site Roger Federer announced his late entry into Monte Carlo, an event he had special exempted himself out of. Of course this changes the entire dynamic of the draw where
Novak Djokovic was set to be the number two seed and Andy Murray number three.

Why did he do it? He understands rankings points right? I don't think there's anything more to say about it.

Maybe someone told him he can't just skip anything he damn well wants?

Too much? ^^

Hell, I don't know. Initially I thought it was weirder for him to drop out than for him to drop in. He's got points so far but no titles and goodness knows, with Murray nipping at no. 3's heels with an eye on no. 2 as he covets no. 1 -- he needs to maintain points.

I wish someone would win it that hasn't won it before, anyone.

So the draw for MC is out, and -- surprise, surprise -- instead of being treated as a normal WC, Mr. Monogram gets seeded (No 2) and -- surprise, surprise -- Andy Murray is in the other half of the draw.

When was the last time Mr. Monogram did not get preferential treatment?
