There is another first that we are all waiting on today. Today marks the first time that Ernest Gulbis has made it to the finals of an ATP event, or any event for that matter. Everyone is waiting with bated breath to see if the young Latvian who has shown so much promise fulfills his potential and takes out the big serving Ivo Karlovic. It will be a match played on who will break serve. I think Karlovic will win this one, perhaps in 2 tiebreak sets

I saw it as a toss up Karen. As it turned out Ernests won. I had internet problems most of the day so I'm just updating the blog now.

Savannah, I cannot believe he actually won that match. I had actually picked Karlovic to win. I am not jumping on the Gulbis bandwagon as the fellow has disappointed too many times. I will wait and see.

Greatness has been predicted for Ernests for a long time. I'm sure his fans are relieved he's won something. It's going to be interesting to see how he reacts to his victory.
