It wasn't the best fit, but it was over quickly enough and with predictable results.

Don't enjoy best of 5 finals that go 3 sets. Sigh, would have been different with our friend from Mallorca, no? I like to think so.

It will be interesting to see what Roger does with this confidence boost. Back to dominance - I sincerely hope not. I don't want to know the winner before the tournament starts.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757702474597183495.post-76482996849162669182008-09-08T17:54:00.000-05:002008-09-08T17:54:00.000-05:00Thanks so much for this post. I was one of the people who bought tickets to the men's semis, only to wonder why on earth Federer-Djokovic was scheduled first when Nadal and Murray have been playing first during the whole tournament. I was also there when there was the announcement of the "first-come-first-served" policy to Louis Armstrong where there was seat-fighting behind me over saved seats and crowds trying to enter. And who could blame them?

Also, the number of planes flying overhead was ridiculous. I really felt for all the players who were trying to serve while trying to drown out the sound of overhead planes. Not only that, you could totally hear the cheers and gasps from Arthur Ashe while Nadal and Murray were trying to play... and of course when Federer finally won, you could hear the on-court interview blaring from the speakers.

While I'm a huge Nadal supporter, both he and Murray should've been able to have ideal conditions during their semi-final match. No sounds from a neighboring (and much bigger) stadium, no constant distractions by poor handling of the crowds, ample practice time in the stadium where they would be playing.

Seeing that Federer is now up two sets and 5-0, this is so upsetting to me. Djokovic barely had any time to rest after his quarterfinal nor Murray after his semi. Ridiculous.

Not to mention the fact that I still didn't get to see the two men's semis that I paid to see!Annyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18197793961062175948noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757702474597183495.post-30168484659036624512008-09-08T13:05:00.000-05:002008-09-08T13:05:00.000-05:00Ironic too that it's the British fave Murray who i...Ironic too that it's the British fave Murray who is behind the 8-ball here. Right, AELTC?

Whatever. I'm not going there.

I've said all along that Rafa getting that Wimby-FO double was enough for this fan. The Gold was pure delightful gravy! Reaching the semi's at the USO, despite not playing his best, is still more gravy! If you go back this year and look at what Rafa's accomplished, it gives great perspective.
Re: comments about him playing so many matches this year - well, if you keep winning them, of course you're going to play more. It's not like he went out in a second round too often.
Congratulations, Rafa, you are the best! What a streak you've had!oddmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16578543002153784482noreply@blogger.com
