That 'forgiving and forgetting' is *only* required from the sisters, while IW can openly nurse a grudge and continue to behave like assholes?

Kudos to your reference to Sharapova and the glaring double standard involved there...

I also wish that people would get a clue and understand what the phrase 'forgive and forget' actually means. I think the biggest problem is that to all intents and purposes, Venus and Serena HAVE forgiven and FORGOTTEN Indian Wells.

They don't bitterly harp on about the event, picket outside the tournament, deliver diatribes in the press or continuously drag it up in media conferences (unlike the media), but in a healthy fashion have calmly determined their tennis lives, sans IW. And I think that that's what really chaps some people's asses.

There they are - two highly successful black women, unbowed and unbullied, and free from humiliation and fear.

Forgiving and forgetting doesn't require that the abused or injured party return to the site of said abuse/injury or that they have subsequent contact (prolonged or even fleeting) with their abusers.

Forgiving and forgetting doesn't mean that you set yourself up to be a potential door-mat again.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03703071636973725044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757702474597183495.post-35185949903215238672009-03-12T20:00:00.000-05:002009-03-12T20:00:00.000-05:00The other players are reduced to praising Roger as...The other players are reduced to praising Roger as the greatest thing since sliced bread while he verbally cuts them to shreds.

I've always said that about Roger.
