I believe they...I will be cheering for the US team. I believe they will do their best and if that best falls short so be it.

As for petitioning the ATP I/m not sure it will do any good. That's not to say we as individuals shouldn't, it's just that if they can blithely disregard the opinions of their "product" in a way that only be described as paternalistic I doubt if the opinions of the fans will sway them.

I saw a report today that changed the "top 20" to "top 10". At least the men are registering their opinions. I just haven't had a chance to get to the WTA players lack of response re "Roadkill".Savannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15079111598976360942noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757702474597183495.post-84108544350654271272008-04-25T10:00:00.000-05:002008-04-25T10:00:00.000-05:00So Savannah, is there anything we can do to suppor...So Savannah, is there anything we can do to support the ATP players? Can we write the ATP and ask that they increase the number of clay tournaments, rather than reduce them? (I wonder if they will listen to fans if the don't listen to the top 20 players.)Helen Whttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07008651858978530028noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-757702474597183495.post-57933758781979919312008-04-24T16:58:00.000-05:002008-04-24T16:58:00.000-05:00I have a question Savannah. Prior to Serena/Venus...I have a question Savannah. Prior to Serena/Venus coming on the scene, who were the players who used to represent the US? Next question, when Serena/Venus represented the US and won Fed Cup were they considered the best that the US could send. I believe that we are doing a dis-service when we call the team that is being sent the D-List (Peter Bodo speak). I believe win or lose the girls will go out there and do the best that they can and we should all support them. My thinking is that the US is going in with a team that is strong on belief. They are going up to me a large group of heavy hitters in name only. When was the last time any of those players fulfilled their potential. Kuzzy has not been playing well, AnnaC just got trounced by a qualifier in her last 2 events, Safina (do not even get me started) and I cannot now recall who the other person is. My thing is that we need to give the girls a chance and not think that they may not make it. Look at what Harkleroad did the other day. Even closer, look at Safin, who has not won a title since 2005, look at how he steps up for Davis Cup. It is all about country people. All about country.Overhead Spinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13838462340734632101noreply@blogger.com
